With our starter store in full swing, we had our plates full. I resigned from my hotel position in preparation, set my sights on the future and worked on strategies to make sure we could fulfill our goals. One thing surprised us though, Quest Con Orlando saw a lot more support than anticipated.

Our goal for year one was 150 guests, this would allow us to pay for the venue and slowly grow over the years. We ended up with over 700 guests by the end of our one-day show. People wanted more, and we felt the need to deliver. One way to do that was to merge our efforts. Anyone who knows me, knows that I will rather partner towards goals than go at it alone, delegation of tasks is important to overall success. You can do a lot, but you can't do everything.

The owner of a miniatures tournament called Crucible Orlando, wanted to partner up and expand their event for 2023. After several conversations, we decided instead of trying to grow each show individually we would merge the shows and do an amazing three days of gaming instead of having the community pay twice. We booked a larger venue, created floorplans and planned for a Quest Con + Crucible event that would marry the two ideologies. This created a little bit of confusion for sure, people were unsure who was "in-charge" or what we were. But we knew, it was a celebration of tabletop.

Regardless of this confusion, our first ever merged event offered the state of Florida something it hasn't experienced in a while, a focused and affordable tabletop experience. While we have many fantastic events throughout the state, our emersion brought forth a different vision and the community responded in kind. There was hiccups for sure, but we could always iron out issues over time.

This year, in a few days even, we will be flying a singular flag officially as Quest Con Orlando. Nearly 1,500 unique individuals have placed their trust in us to offer an amazing experience. I look forward to seeing you all on the other side, lets roll some dice.
